France to pull its troops from Ivory Coast after years of military ties

France will withdraw its troops from Ivory Coast on February 20th, marking a significant shift in French military presence in Africa.

This decision follows similar withdrawals in other West African countries, including Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger.

While a small contingent of French troops will remain for training exercises, this marks the end of a long-standing military presence in the country.

The withdrawal reflects a changing geopolitical landscape in Africa and a reassessment of France’s military role in the region.
