Manchester City are closing in on a deal to sign Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, British media reported on Sunday.
The Premier League champions could pay up to 100 million euros ($116.80 million) for the 18-year-old Morocco international.
The Athletic reported City will pay an initial 95 million euros, with a further five million in possible add-ons.
The fee would rank among the highest ever paid for a teenage footballer, underscoring City’s faith in his potential.
It follows City’s earlier summer swoop for Elliot Anderson, signed from Nottingham Forest for a reported 116 million pounds ($158.18 million).
Bouaddi operates primarily as a defensive midfielder, prized for his composure and ability to shield the backline.
He made 30 Ligue 1 appearances last season as Lille secured third place and Champions League qualification.
His rise has been swift, marked by an assured temperament that belies his tender years.
Bouaddi made his senior international debut for Morocco in May, announcing himself on the global stage.

Bouaddi went on to start five of Morocco’s six matches as the side reached the quarter-finals.
