
UAE and Ethiopia have discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in emergency and disaster management.
The talks took place during a meeting between the chairman of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, and Ethiopian commissioner Shiferaw Teklemariam in Ethiopia.
Both sides reviewed areas of cooperation and explored opportunities for institutional partnerships, as well as increased knowledge exchange in disaster risk reduction.
Al Neyadi was also briefed on the mandate of Ethiopia’s disaster management commission, along with its key responsibilities and national programmes.
He stressed that international cooperation in emergency and crisis management remains a key pillar of national preparedness systems.
He added that sharing expertise with friendly and partner countries helps build stronger and more resilient response capabilities.
Al Neyadi also praised Ethiopia’s efforts in disaster risk management and underlined the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
