Israeli strikes kill 657 in Iran including children and troops

A US-based rights group reported Friday that Israeli airstrikes on Iran have killed at least 657 people since June 13.

The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) said the toll includes 263 civilians and 164 military personnel, with dozens of children among the dead.

HRANA verified the identities of more than 20 children killed, most of them in Tehran, amid the relentless bombing campaign.

An additional 230 victims remain unclassified as either civilians or security forces, the group added in its latest report.

More than 2,000 people, both civilians and members of the security forces, have been wounded as of early Friday.

Strikes have battered 21 of Iran’s 31 provinces, leaving communities in ruins and survivors in mourning.

HRANA, part of the Human Rights Activists NGO, was founded in Iran in 2005 but later relocated to the US under pressure from Iranian authorities.

The group now publishes daily reports documenting human rights abuses within Iran, shedding light on the toll of the ongoing conflict.

Israel has justified its strikes as an effort to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, an ambition Tehran denies.

Iranian officials reported Sunday that Israeli strikes had killed at least 224 people, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.

No updated official toll has been provided by Iran since then, even as the violence continues.

Iran’s retaliatory strikes have also inflicted damage in Israel, where authorities say at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds wounded.

As the conflict grinds on, the human cost mounts on both sides, with no clear end in sight.
