A rights group called Refugees in Libya said Wednesday it had obtained a “shocking” video that appears to show an armed man killing a man believed to be Chadian in a desert area after his expulsion from Libya. The clip contains no date or location markers, and its authenticity could not be independently verified.
The organization, legally registered in Italy and advocating for refugees and migrants regardless of status, described the footage as extremely disturbing and lacking precise details.
The reported incident comes amid broader risks faced by migrants and asylum seekers in Libya, a major transit point toward Europe. Rights groups have long documented abuses including forced labor and torture, and many people intercepted by the Libyan Coast Guard are returned to detention centers.
