Turkey continues to share its expertise with Africa sincerely, without prejudice, discrimination, or imposing conditions, officials confirmed Friday. Burhanettin Duran, head of Turkey’s presidential communications, highlighted the country’s “win-win” approach in a statement on his social media account, Nsosyal.
The comments followed the 5th Turkey-Africa Business and Economic Forum, where President Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented Turkey’s vision for deepened continental ties. Erdogan emphasised a partnership rooted in brotherhood, equality, and solidarity, aiming to transform diplomatic relations into meaningful, long-term cooperation.
Duran recalled the 2005 initiative declaring the “Year of Africa,” which has since evolved into a partnership connecting hearts across the continent. “As our President stated, across Africa, the color of our tears is the same,” Duran wrote, highlighting shared humanity in Turkey-Africa relations.
He added that this approach turns Turkey’s engagement into a moral and humanitarian bond, beyond strategic or economic interests. Turkey views Africa not as a distant region but as part of a shared destiny shaped by historical, cultural, and social ties.
The country’s engagement focuses on peace, solidarity, and mutual respect, principles that guide Turkey’s initiatives at both bilateral and international levels. Through knowledge exchange, cultural collaboration, and economic partnerships, Turkey aims to carry this legacy into the future with the continent.
Duran concluded that these efforts reflect Turkey’s commitment to sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships that prioritise human dignity and continental development.
