Israel said on Monday it held a third Joint Military Committee meeting with Morocco, aiming to strengthen security coordination between the two countries. A military statement said the talks took place in Tel Aviv and concluded with the signing of a joint work plan for 2026.
Israel did not disclose details about the Moroccan military delegation, offering only broad descriptions of the discussions and planned cooperation. According to the statement, professional meetings were held alongside visits to Israeli army units, defence industries, and relevant military departments.
Moroccan authorities did not immediately comment on the Israeli announcement, leaving Rabat’s position on the latest talks publicly unaddressed. Israel described the meeting as another milestone, portraying Morocco as a key partner in advancing regional security and stability.
Morocco was among four Arab countries that normalised relations with Israel under the US-sponsored Abraham Accords in 2020. Security ties deepened further in late 2021, when the two countries signed a defence cooperation agreement during a visit by Israel’s defence minister.
