Turkey and Zambia sign deal to boost diplomatic ties

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met his Zambian counterpart Mulambo Haimbe in Ankara to strengthen diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The talks, held on Tuesday, highlighted efforts to deepen cooperation through concrete agreements and ongoing political dialogue.

Officials said the ministers explored ways to expand relations, focusing on increasing diplomatic presence and building long-term institutional links.

After the meeting, both sides signed a protocol to exchange land for future diplomatic missions in each country.

The agreement is expected to support the opening of embassies and improve official representation.

In a statement shared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey on NSosyal, authorities confirmed the meeting and described it as constructive.

Diplomatic sources said the deal marks a practical step towards broader cooperation, strengthening ties through both physical presence and symbolic engagement.

Both sides expressed cautious optimism, signalling a commitment to building lasting relations based on mutual benefit and steady cooperation.
