Senegal and The Gambia have moved to deepen digital cooperation after Senegal’s telecommunications minister visited Banjul for working talks.
The visit by Senegal’s Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, Samba Diouf, focused on implementing a bilateral memorandum.
Diouf and his Gambian counterpart, alongside technical teams, reviewed the agreement’s roadmap and identified priorities for early implementation.
The two countries agreed to pursue a pragmatic, results-driven approach, advancing initiatives according to readiness and shared priorities.
Discussions covered connectivity, cybersecurity, capacity building and digital transformation as both nations seek to strengthen their digital capabilities.
The partnership aims to expand digital infrastructure and improve telecommunications services, opening new pathways for cooperation across the two neighbouring countries.
The working visit marks a step towards turning their digital agreement into concrete programmes that could benefit citizens.
