
A Nigeria military plane crash has triggered a search and rescue operation after an aircraft carrying 32 people went down in southern Nigeria on Monday.
The aircraft had 25 passengers and seven crew members on board when it crashed in the Igbokoda area of Ondo state.
There was no immediate confirmation of casualties.
Africanews, citing the Associated Press, reported that authorities launched a search and rescue operation after the crash.

The aircraft was travelling to Lagos on a routine mission when it crashed, according to Nigeria’s Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo.
The Nigerian Air Force identified the aircraft as an ATR-42.
Keyamo said the plane disappeared from radar at around 9 a.m. local time.
Authorities later located the aircraft after it crashed roughly midway through its journey from Edo state to Lagos.
The cause of the Nigeria military plane crash was not immediately known.
Search and rescue operation under way
The Nigerian Air Force said it launched an immediate search and rescue operation following the incident.
Authorities had not provided information about the condition of the 32 people on board when the initial announcement was made.
Officials had also not confirmed the extent of the damage to the aircraft.
Further information about possible casualties was expected as the rescue operation continued.
The Nigeria military plane crash is now under investigation, with authorities yet to announce what caused the aircraft to go down.
