Edward Enninful voted most influential black figure in UK

Edward Enninful OBE, the editor-in-chief of British Vogue, has been crowned the UK’s most influential black figure by the Powerlist 2024, which recognizes individuals of African and African Caribbean heritage.

Alongside Enninful, notable figures like Afua Kyei, Bank of England’s chief financial officer, and Steven Bartlett, the Dragon’s Den star and podcaster, also secured spots on the list.

Enninful, the first black man to lead British Vogue, intends to step down from his position to focus on global brand expansion and other ventures.

Delighted by the recognition, he emphasized the importance of showcasing diverse industry pioneers.

Born in Ghana, Enninful’s journey from a teenage model to the youngest editor at a major fashion magazine underscores his remarkable career.

The Powerlist acknowledges exceptional individuals across various fields, spanning business, science, technology, and the arts.
