Edward Buba, the Director of Media Operations for the Nigerian Ministry of Defense, stated in his announcement that significant successes have been achieved in the fight against terrorism in the country.
Buba noted that 9,303 terrorists were neutralized in one year.
He also mentioned that the army rescued 4,641 hostages in one year, and 9,562 Boko Haram members surrendered.
Nigeria is combating armed gangs as well as terrorist organizations such as Boko Haram and the so called Islamic State’s West Africa branch, ISWAP, in various regions.
