ADF rebels kill civilians, abduct others in eastern DR Congo

A brutal attack by Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an extremist group linked to the Islamic State, has resulted in the deaths of at least 10 people and the abduction of others in eastern DR Congo’s North Kivu province.

The attack on the Batangi-Mbau area occurred on Sunday night, with rebels burning homes and terrorizing the local population.

The ADF has been responsible for numerous atrocities in the region, including mass killings and abductions, particularly targeting children.

The ongoing conflict in eastern Congo has displaced millions of people and destabilized the region.

The presence of numerous armed groups, fueled by the desire for control over valuable resources, has exacerbated the violence.

The international community has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in eastern DR Congo and has called for urgent action to address the root causes of the conflict and protect civilians.
