The trial of the driver involved in the crash that injured boxer Anthony Joshua and killed two members of his team has been postponed in Nigeria.
A court in Ogun State adjourned the case against Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode until November 17.
The case relates to a December 2025 crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Joshua survived the crash. However, two members of his team were killed.
Anthony Joshua crash driver faces charges
Kayode, 46, faces several charges linked to the crash.
They include dangerous driving causing death, reckless and negligent driving, and driving without due care.
He is also accused of driving without a valid national driver’s licence.
The case began at a magistrate court in Ogun State in January.
Africanews reported that proceedings scheduled for September 10 were adjourned until November 17.
Prosecutors outline crash allegations
Prosecutors allege that Kayode was trying to overtake another vehicle before the crash.
The SUV carrying Joshua and members of his team then struck a stationary truck, according to the prosecution’s case.
The allegations remain before the court.
Kayode has not been convicted of the charges.
Two members of Joshua’s team killed
Joshua suffered injuries in the December 29 crash.
The former heavyweight champion was later discharged from hospital.
However, his personal trainer, Latif Ayodele, and strength and conditioning coach, Sina Ghami, died in the crash.
The group had been travelling to visit Joshua’s father in Ogun State.
Police investigation examined crash
Police previously told the court that both vehicles had been removed from the scene before investigators arrived.
The criminal proceedings are continuing as the court considers the charges arising from the fatal crash.
The next hearing is now scheduled for November 17.
