A horrific road accident on Sunday on the Zaria-Kano highway in Nigeria’s Kano State tragically killed at least 21 people.
Three others sustained injuries in the collision, which involved a trailer and a bus.
According to Abdullahi Labaran, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, rescue teams swiftly responded to the scene.
They undertook immediate rescue and evacuation operations.
The statement confirmed that the burnt bodies of the deceased were taken to Nassarawa Hospital Mortuary in Kano.
The injured survivors received treatment at Garun Malam General Hospital.
