At least 25 killed, 44 injured in Algeria bus crash

At least 25 people were killed and 44 others injured when a passenger bus overturned in northern Algeria on Friday, according to the country’s Civil Protection agency.

The bus was travelling from Setif province when it veered off the road and overturned in Boumerdes province, east of the capital Algiers.

Authorities described the crash as a “tragic” accident and said the death toll had risen to 25. Another 44 passengers sustained injuries of varying severity.

Emergency crews were deployed to the scene, with rescue and recovery operations continuing as authorities worked to assist the injured and determine the cause of the crash.
