Burhan-controlled SAF bombed Sudan camp, killing civilians: RSF

A devastating airstrike on the Zamzam displacement camp early Monday morning has ignited fresh outrage in Sudan, with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) condemning Burhan-controlled SAF for targeting innocent civilians.

The attack comes as humanitarian organizations grapple with a looming famine in the region.

The RSF has vehemently blasted the attack, labelling it a “heinous crime” and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

The Sudanese fighting group said the airstrike is the latest in a series of attacks perpetrated by the “terrorist Islamic Movement militia,” a term they use to describe their opponents.

The RSF spokesperson underlined that the attack prioritizes violence over the desperate humanitarian needs of the camp residents, particularly children and other vulnerable populations.

The RSF is characterizing the airstrike as part of a wider campaign of genocide against ethnic groups seeking autonomy from the central government.

The Forces has called on the international community to intervene and hold those responsible for the attack accountable. RSF has also urged global leaders to condemn the actions of the militia leadership.

The attack on the Zamzam camp has drawn widespread condemnation, with many observers highlighting the dire humanitarian situation in Darfur and the urgent need for a coordinated international response.

As the crisis deepens, calls for peace and accountability are growing louder.
