Cholera outbreak in Sudan claims 235 lives

The number of deaths due to the cholera outbreak in Sudan has reached 235, according to the Sudanese Ministry of Health.

The ministry’s statement also said that the number of cholera cases has increased to 6,618. The outbreak has spread to 8 of Sudan’s 18 states.

The rains and floods that have been affecting Sudan since June have caused the spread of cholera.

Sudanese authorities declared cholera an epidemic on August 12.

The spread of epidemics is making people’s lives even more difficult in Sudan, where the war is ongoing and the health system is not working effectively.
