Djibouti police arrested more than 200 people, most of them foreigners, in a nighttime security sweep across the capital.
Intervention units from the Djibouti National Police carried out the operation as part of intensified security measures citywide.
Authorities said the crackdown followed recent unrest and disturbances reported in public areas of Djibouti city.
Security forces have since expanded their presence in several neighborhoods, targeting areas officials consider particularly sensitive.
Police said a round-the-clock security presence has now been established in those districts to deter further incidents.
Officers also confiscated a number of weapons that authorities said were being held illegally by residents.
Those detained were transferred to the temporary Nagad facility, where officials are verifying identities and travel documents.
Police said the individuals concerned are being processed for return across the border.
The operation reflects Djibouti’s broader push to reinforce security and safeguard public order in the capital.
