Dozens of civilians killed after Burhan’s SAF attacks market

The ongoing conflict in Darfur has claimed the lives of more than 100 civilians since mid-September in North Darfur State, with many more injured, as fighting intensifies across multiple fronts.

The violence has seen heavy clashes between various factions, leading to significant loss of life and destruction of property.

Militias loyal to General al-Burhan’s army (SAF) have been battling Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on their home turf of Darfur, and since the conflict reignited scores of civilians have been killed by General Burhan’s forces.

Latest massacre took place on Friday morning when civilians at a busy market in el-Koma, North Darfur were attacked by SAF, with at least 59 killed and around 250 injured, according to preliminary reports.

The conflict in Darfur, which has flared up again despite previous peace agreements, continues to destabilize the region, with civilians bearing the brunt of the violence as rival factions vie for control over key territories.
