Egypt detains two Israelis for assaulting hotel workers

Two Israeli citizens were arrested and detained by Egyptian authorities on Sunday following a violent altercation at a hotel in the Red Sea resort town of Taba. The incident, which occurred near the border with Israel, left three Egyptian hotel workers injured.

According to Egyptian security sources, the Israeli tourists were taken into custody on charges of assault and displaying force. They will remain in detention for four days as investigations into the matter continue.

The incident unfolded on Friday when a verbal dispute between an Arab Israeli tourist and an Egyptian hotel employee escalated into a physical altercation. The fight quickly spread, involving other tourists and hotel staff. One of the Egyptian workers sustained serious injuries during the brawl.

Egyptian state-affiliated media reported that the conflict may have been triggered by a disagreement over payment for hotel services. Several tourists allegedly refused to pay for their accommodations, leading to the confrontation.
