Large parts of Khartoum, Bahri, and Omdurman witnessed a night of intense clashes on Tuesday amid ongoing electricity, water, and communication service outages.
An emigration trend has emerged from the southern neighborhoods of the capital towards Gezira state due to ongoing military operations, food shortages, and a deteriorating healthcare sector.
As battles and clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continue in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, the Omdurman area has witnessed a new wave of emigration among residents and civilians.
The clashes resulted in casualties on both sides, particularly in Omdurman, following ground operations carried out by the Sudanese army after the entry and expansion of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in residential neighborhoods.
At the end of last month, Emergency Lawyers reported that numerous areas in Khartoum, especially in the south and center, had been evacuated and citizens’ homes were being used as military barracks.
The ongoing deadly conflict that erupted between the two sides since April 15 continues in the capital and its outskirts as well as in the Darfur region to the west of the country and some southern areas.
Despite all international and regional efforts, a solution has yet to be reached.
The war has resulted in the deaths of at least 3,900 people, and it has forced nearly four million others to leave their towns and homes, either to other states unaffected by the violence or outside the country.
