Kenya, South Sudan commit to strengthening collaboration

South Sudan and Kenya have taken the initial steps towards forming a joint cooperation commission, signifying a significant milestone in their bilateral relationship.

Kenyan President William Ruto conveyed a message to his South Sudanese counterpart, Salva Kiir Mayardit, indicating a shared commitment to addressing common issues and enhancing their collaborative efforts.

During the meeting of officials from both countries, their primary emphasis was on promoting peace, stability and investigating areas of mutual interest within the East African Community framework.

Kenyan Prime Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, commended President Kiir for his dedication to uniting the people of South Sudan, especially during challenging periods.

South Sudan’s Foreign Affairs Minister, James Pitia Morgan, expressed the unwavering commitment of President Kiir to advancing peace and stability. He reassured the Kenyan delegation that this commitment extends also to the broader region, highlighting President Kiir’s dedication to regional peace and stability efforts.
