The students were taken on 17 November when armed men raided their school shortly after a military detachment had departed. The incident set off a series of similar kidnappings in Kwara and Niger states, according to officials.
President Bola Tinubu welcomed the release and urged security agencies to step up operations to rescue others still held by armed groups.
“I am relieved that all twenty four girls have been accounted for. Now we must place more boots on the ground in vulnerable areas to prevent further kidnappings. My government will provide all necessary support to achieve this,” Tinubu said.
Mass abductions for ransom remain a persistent threat in northern Nigeria, where armed groups frequently target schools and rural communities, often outmatching local security forces.
