Libya warns of foreign interference as Russia transfers weapons

Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah has expressed deep concern over potential Russian military involvement in the country, warning that it could escalate the ongoing conflict.

Recent reports suggest that Russia is transferring military equipment from its bases in Syria to eastern Libya, where the rival administration, backed by military leader Khalifa Haftar, has received Russian support for years.

Dbeibah emphasized that any foreign military intervention in Libya, beyond training and equipment agreements, would be unacceptable. He stressed that the Libyan people would not tolerate such actions.

The ongoing conflict in Libya, which began in 2011, has destabilized the region and led to a humanitarian crisis. The involvement of foreign powers, including Russia, has further complicated the situation and hindered efforts towards a peaceful resolution.

As the situation in Libya remains volatile, international observers are closely monitoring developments and urging all parties involved to prioritize a peaceful and diplomatic solution.
