Imo police spokesperson Henry Okoye said the discovery was made during a raid in the Umuhu autonomous community in Ngor Okpala district after intelligence linked the suspect to the site. Okoye said forensic teams had gathered evidence and that all accomplices would be brought to justice. The operation included the Imo health commissioner, a pathologist, local officials, and vigilantes working alongside police.
He said investigators had opened a formal probe into suspected organ-harvesting activities. Police also searched the suspect’s home, recovering further evidence, though details were not immediately disclosed. Nigeria continues to grapple with worsening criminality, as kidnapping gangs increasingly turn to ritual killings and suspected organ-trafficking networks.
