Nigerian air force plane crashes during routine training exercises

The Nigerian Air Force reported that one of its plane crashed in the central city of Makurdi on Friday during a routine training exercise. There were no fatalities resulting from the incident.

In a statement, Air Force spokesman Air Commodore Edward Gabkwe confirmed that both pilots on board the aircraft survived the incident by successfully ejecting.

The pilots are currently under observation at an air force hospital located in Makurdi, which is approximately 184 km (114 miles) east of Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, statement said.

Meanwhile, the air force authorities have initiated investigations to ascertain the cause of the crash, statement added.
