Tensions escalated after President Salva Kiir dismissed the governor of Upper Nile state, where clashes between government forces and an ethnic militia have intensified.
The militia is accused of aligning with First Vice President Riek Machar, raising fears of renewed conflict in the fragile nation.
South Sudan, the world’s newest country, emerged from a devastating civil war in 2018.
However, ongoing violence threatens its fragile peace, stoking international concerns.
Norway’s foreign ministry stated that embassy operations will temporarily shift to Nairobi, Kenya, until conditions improve.
