Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara has reappointed Robert Beugre Mambe as prime minister, resetting his government after December’s legislative elections reshaped parliament.
A presidential decree broadcast on Wednesday said Ouattara asked Mambe to form a new cabinet “as soon as possible,” signalling swift political renewal.
The president had accepted the resignation of Mambe and his ministers on January 7, opening space for a post-election administration.
Until a new government is named, the outgoing team will continue managing state affairs, keeping institutions steady during the transition.
Ouattara’s ruling Rally of Houphouetists for Democracy and Peace secured a commanding parliamentary majority, winning 197 of 255 National Assembly seats.
Those elections followed October’s presidential vote, where Ouattara captured a fourth term with nearly ninety percent support.
The reappointment underlines continuity at the summit of power, as Ivory Coast moves to translate electoral victories into governing momentum.
