
At least 28 people lost their lives in a tragic bus accident in southern Ethiopia on Wednesday.
The incident occurred when a public transport bus traveling from Walayta Sodo city to the Dauro zone veered off the road and plunged into a river.
According to Inspector Wolde Biliso, head of the Traffic Accident Prevention and Control Division at the Walayta Zone Police Department, the accident took place around 1 p.m. local time in the Fatata district of the region.
In addition to the fatalities, 29 people were injured, and authorities fear that the death toll may rise as some of the injured are in critical condition.
