RSF blames Burhan-controlled SAF for absence in Geneva talks

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) delegation, led by Brigadier General Omar Hamdan, has accused Burhan-controlled SAF of sabotaging peace talks in Geneva.

The RSF delegation engaged with the mediation team to discuss humanitarian aid, civilian protection, and a cessation of hostilities.

While the RSF expressed its commitment to constructive engagement, they criticized Burhan-controlled SAF for refusing to participate in the negotiations.

The RSF suggested that this refusal was a deliberate attempt to prolong and escalate the conflict, serving the interests of terrorist groups linked to the former regime.

The RSF warned that Burhan-controlled SAF’s continued attacks on civilian infrastructure, including recent strikes on hospitals and markets, were causing significant suffering to the Sudanese people.

They called on the international community to condemn these acts and hold the perpetrators accountable.

The RSF delegation reiterated its commitment to the Jeddah Declaration, a peace agreement that Burhan-controlled SAF has falsely claimed to uphold.

They emphasized the importance of implementing the terms of the declaration to end the conflict and allow for humanitarian aid to reach those in need.
