RSF in Sudan reports death of 14 civilians by SAF airstrike in South Darfur

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) reported in a statement published on the X platform that the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) bombed the city of Nyala in South Darfur, resulting in the death of approximately 14 people and the injury of dozens.

The statement also mentioned “another horrific act in the area of Soba, east of the capital of Khartoum, which resulted in the tragic death and injury of countless innocent civilians and workers. They targeted an area devoid of any Rapid Support Forces (RSF) presence.”

“In response, the RSF Special Forces conducted a successful operation in Omdurman, targeting the Engineering Corps and the Commanders and Staff College. This mission resulted in the obliteration of military vehicles and equipment and the death of 60 SAF personnel. A total of 140 others were injured.” the statement added.

The army and the RSF have been engaged in conflicts since mid-April, with a series of ceasefires failing to halt the violence. This has resulted in over 3,000 casualties, mostly civilians, and more than 4 million internally displaced persons and refugees.
