RSF reiterates commitment to humanitarian aid in Sudan

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have reiterated their commitment to facilitating humanitarian aid within Sudan, particularly in regions under their control.

The announcement comes as their delegation arrives in Geneva, emphasizing their focus on humanitarian objectives over political gains.

In a media statement on Friday, the RSF emphasized their dedication to ensuring the safe passage of aid convoys through the Daba and Adre crossings.

The group stressed that these efforts are in strict adherence to international humanitarian law, highlighting the critical role of the international community and the United Nations in providing relief during Sudan’s crisis.

The RSF welcomed international initiatives to deliver aid, especially through the Adre crossing, which has been under the group’s control since the conflict began.

The statement noted RSF’s ongoing cooperation with the Sudanese Relief and Humanitarian Operations Agency and reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding humanitarian personnel operating in these areas.

Cautioning against the politicization of their efforts, the RSF expressed concerns about attempts to exploit their humanitarian actions for war-related objectives.

It also dismissed any decrees from the Burhan-controlled SAF regarding control of border crossings, labeling them as irrelevant and harmful to the Sudanese people.

The RSF underscored that their ultimate goal is to end the conflict quickly while laying the groundwork for a new Sudan based on democracy, justice, and equality.
