RSF rejects UAE help claims, blames others for Sudan’s tragedy

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) group has vehemently denied allegations of widespread human rights abuses and war crimes during the ongoing conflict with the General Abdel Fattah al Burhan-controlled SAF.

Speaking to journalists in Nairobi, RSF delegation head General Omar Hamdan Ahmed categorically refuted claims of receiving military support from the United Arab Emirates.

Instead, he accused Egypt of providing significant aid to the Burhan-led forces, including air strikes, a charge that Cairo has denied.

The UN has documented extensive evidence of crimes in fighting areas.

RSF also has dismissed crime accusations as “social media propaganda” and has claimed to have conducted investigations into allegations.

The group has also expressed its commitment to peace and has called for an immediate ceasefire.

The 19-month-long conflict has devastated Sudan, causing a humanitarian crisis and displacing millions of people.

The international community has urged both sides to cease hostilities and engage in meaningful dialogue to end the violence.
