RSF’s Dagalo vows to defend Sudan’s civilians, rejects talks with SAF

The leader of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, threatened further military escalation in a defiant speech that rejected any peace talks with General al-Burhan’s SAF junta and signaled plans to push deeper into northern areas of Sudan.

Dagalo said his forces had decimated the SAF’s capabilities during a recent offensive in Sayyad and accused the al-Burhan of using chemical weapons in the fighting.

He threatened to expand the conflict by attacking the city of al Obeid and areas in the Northern State, vowing to target individuals he labeled as “wanted” across Sudan.

Rejecting participation in any negotiations with SAF, Dagalo dismissed calls for peace from Sheikh Muhammad Hashim al-Hakim, who had recently said in a video that the Prophet Muhammad encouraged a halt to the fighting.

In an apparent show of strength, Dagalo promoted a field commander mid-speech and promised to build specialized medical facilities for wounded RSF fighters.

He also accused Egypt of backing al-Burhan’s SAF and downplayed the effectiveness of joint forces in the conflict.

Addressing concerns over a video showing a captured SAF soldier being run over by a combat vehicle, Dagalo pledged accountability for any violations of the rules of war.
