Saudi Arabia on Sunday sent a second plane carrying humanitarian aid to the victims of deadly floods in Libya.
The new plane carries 40 tons of food assistance upon instructions of King Salman and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to provide relief aid to Libya, the state news agency SPA reported.
The aircraft already arrived at Benina International Airport in the eastern city of Benghazi.
On Saturday, the oil-rich kingdom dispatched a plane carrying 90 tons of food and shelter aid to the flood victims in Libya.
At least 11,300 people have been killed in Libya and thousands more are still missing following floods caused by Mediterranean storm Daniel, according to the latest figures by the UN Humanitarian Office (OCHA).
More than 40,000 people have been displaced across Libya’s northeastern areas by the deadly floods, the UN office said.
The eastern city of Derna was hardest hit by the killer flooding after the city’s dams burst, washing away homes and people.
