Security and health campaign destroys two tons of expired food in White Nile

Sudan’s Standards and Metrology Authority, White Nile branch, recently destroyed two tons of expired and spoiled food collected during field inspections and market campaigns in the Al-Duim and Al-Qutaynah localities.

The operation was carried out at the Duim city landfill, in the presence of representatives from the executive directorate, public prosecution, health authorities, police, and economic security offices. Confiscated items included various food products such as sweets, biscuits, sauces, and soft drinks.

Engineer Magdi Siddiq Al-Hajj, director of the White Nile branch of the authority, praised the role of partners in supporting the agency’s inspection and oversight activities to safeguard consumers. He emphasised that monitoring and control efforts will continue, in line with the authority’s policies to protect both consumers and the national economy.
