South Africa hosts conference on global solidarity with Palestine

The Republic of South Africa is hosting the “5th Global Solidarity Conference on Palestine” which started today and will continue until December 5th.

The conference, which is being held at the Kurtuba Convention Center in Johannesburg, is attended by representatives from Palestinian institutions and organizations, as well as delegations from more than 50 countries from Asia to Latin America.

The conference, organized by the “Global Campaign for the Return to Palestine”, which brings together a large number of pro-Palestinian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from more than 40 countries around the world under the same umbrella, is being held on the 10th anniversary of the death of Nelson Mandela, one of the global symbols of the fight against racism and discrimination.

The country of Mandela, one of the leading advocates of the Palestinian issue, is one of the countries that has taken the clearest and most concrete steps against Israel.

South Africa, which accused Israel of genocide and complained to the International Criminal Court, withdrew its diplomats from Tel Aviv and decided to close the Israeli Embassy in Pretoria in its parliament, approaches the Palestinian issue with the mission of “fighting apartheid”.
