Sudan activists warn of catastrophe in besieged El-Fasher city

Civilians trapped in Sudan’s El-Fasher are facing what activists describe as “catastrophic” conditions amid an intens fighting.

El-Fasher remains encircled after nearly a year of fighting between General Abdel Fattah al Burhan-led army and Rapid Support forces.

The Darfur General Coordination of Camps for the Displaced and Refugees reported relentless shelling, hunger, disease, and fear from constant airstrikes.

Markets have collapsed, humanitarian aid has halted, and prices for basic goods have soared beyond residents’ reach.

Cash is nearly unavailable, leaving families unable to access food or flee the worsening violence.
