Sudanese Sovereignty Council head relieves council member of duties

The chairman of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, issued a constitutional decree on Friday relieving Dr. Al-Hadi Idris from his membership in the Council.

The Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council stated in a press release that the parties to the Juba Peace Agreement are required to nominate a replacement for him.

Al-Burhan issued a decision on Thursday to dismiss several ministers, including the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Mohamed Abdullah Mahmoud, the Minister of Trade and Supply, Amal Saleh Saad, the Minister of Transportation, Hisham Ahmed Ali, and the Minister of Labor and Administrative Reform, Saad El Tayeb Hassan.

Additionally, Al-Burhan decided to relieve Hafiz Ibrahim Abd al-Nabi from his position as Minister of Animal Wealth and called upon the parties of the Juba Peace Agreement to nominate a replacement.
