Sudan’s army chief visits South Sudan for talks on the war

Head of the Sovereignty Council and Commander of the Sudanese Army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, headed to Juba on Monday, to meet with South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit to discuss bilateral relations and developments in Sudan, which is suffering from the consequences of war.

General Abdel-Fattah Burhan, the head of Sudan’s ruling Sovereign Council, is set to hold talks with South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir to address the ongoing conflict in Sudan, as per a statement from the council.

The visit is the second foreign visit for Burhan after leaving Khartoum for Port Sudan in the eastern part of the country for the first time since the outbreak of the war.
