The Forces of Freedom and Change – Central Council (FFC-CC) in Sudan praised Qatar’s commitment to work with regional and international forces to end the war in the country.
The statement said, “The Forces of Freedom and Change (the former ruling coalition in Sudan) appreciate Qatar’s commitment, as expressed by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, to work seriously with international and regional forces to end the war in Sudan as soon as possible.”
It also highlighted Doha’s commitment to “support relief efforts for millions of Sudanese whose lives have been destroyed by the war, and who have been displaced as refugees and internally displaced persons, and its readiness to contribute to the reconstruction of Sudan after the cessation of hostilities.”
The statement pointed to “the commitment of the FFC to continue working to build a broader civil front to end the war and restore the path of democratic transition.”
On Thursday, the FFC-CC discussed with the Qatari Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, ways to stop the war and restore peace.
Since mid-April, the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have been engaged in clashes that a series of ceasefires have failed to stop, resulting in over 3,000 deaths, mostly civilians, and over 4 million internally displaced persons and refugees inside and outside the country.
