The death toll from the cholera outbreak in Sudan has risen to 852

It has been reported that the number of deaths due to the cholera outbreak in Sudan has risen to 852.

The Sudanese Ministry of Health stated that the total number of cholera cases in the country has reached 29,147.

The announcement noted that the death toll from the cholera outbreak has increased to 852.

Heavy rains and floods affecting Sudan since June have contributed to the spread of cholera.

Sudanese authorities declared a cholera outbreak on August 12.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported on October 1 that 3.4 million Sudanese children are at risk of epidemic diseases.

On October 5, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced that it had sent 1.4 million doses of cholera vaccine to Sudan.

In war-torn Sudan, the ineffective functioning of the healthcare system during this period exacerbates the spread of infectious diseases, making life even more difficult for the people.
