Tunisia gets four T-6C training aircraft from the United States

Tunisian defense ministry on Tuesday confirmed the reception of four T-6C training aircraft from the United States. This delivery is part of a collaborative effort to modernize and renew Tunisia’s air force training aircraft fleet.

In a recent incident, a military aircraft crashed into the sea last month, resulting in the unfortunate loss of four Tunisian soldiers. President Kais Saied attributed the accident to the aging military fleet, highlighting the need for fleet modernization and upgrades.

Expressing dedication to assisting the defense ministry’s endeavors in strengthening the Tunisian air force’s capabilities to address security challenges and humanitarian requirements, U.S. Ambassador Joey R. Hood affirmed the United States’ commitment to support Tunisia.

Imed Memich, the defense minister, stated that the newly acquired aircraft would grant the Tunisian air force advanced training capabilities, significantly enhancing their training programs.
