Tunisia recovers seven migrant bodies, rescues 27

Tunisia’s coast guard has recovered the bodies of seven migrants off its coast, with 27 others rescued from the same vessel, which had broken down and taken on water due to severe weather conditions, according to the national guard. All the migrants aboard were from sub-Saharan African nations.

This tragedy marks the latest incident in the Mediterranean’s ongoing migrant crisis. Tunisia, now a primary departure point for those seeking a better life in Europe, has been grappling with an unprecedented surge in migration, surpassing Libya as the main transit hub for both Tunisians and other Africans.
