Tunisian Ons Jabeur makes history, through to Wimbledon final

Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur will compete for the Wimbledon women’s singles title against unseeded Czech, Marketa Vondrousova on July 15, 2023.

Jabeur seeks to become the first African and Arab woman to win the prestigious title.

She staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus and secure a place in the Wimbledon women’s singles final, for a second consecutive year.

Having reached the French Open final in 2019 on clay, she has struggled to replicate that success until now.

Meanwhile, Vondrousova’s journey has been marked by two wrist surgeries and a six-month absence from the sport in 2022. Reflecting on her unexpected progress, she expressed gratitude for being healthy and able to compete again.
