The new Egyptian Ambassador to Turkey, Amr El-Hamami, affirmed his intention to enhance Egyptian-Turkish relations. This came during the presentation of the Ambassador of Cairo to Ankara, his credentials to the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Ambassador Amr El-Hammami expressed “his pride in being appointed as the first ambassador of Egypt to Turkey in more than 10 years.”
El-Hamami emphasized “his intention to work on strengthening and enhancing Egyptian-Turkish relations in all fields.”
Earlier on Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received the new Egyptian Ambassador to Ankara, Amr El-Hamami, and accepted his credentials during a reception at the Turkish Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara.
President Erdogan took commemorative photos with the Egyptian ambassador, his family, and some members of the embassy.
Turkey and Egypt announced in a joint statement in July the elevation of their diplomatic relations to the ambassadorial level.
Salih Mutlu Sen was nominated as the Turkish ambassador to Cairo, and Amr El-Hamami as the Egyptian ambassador to Ankara.
