The World Health Organization (WHO) has condemned the ongoing attacks on hospitals in Sudan.
In a statement, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed concern over the recent attack on En-Nev Hospital, where seven people were killed and 37 injured.
“Access to healthcare is already severely limited,” Dr. Ghebreyesus said.
“We urgently call for a ceasefire and the protection of health facilities. Peace is the best medicine.”
The conflict in Sudan has had a devastating impact on the civilian population.
Millions are displaced, and access to essential services is severely disrupted. Healthcare workers face significant challenges, including security risks and shortages of medical supplies.
The international community must exert pressure on all parties to the conflict to cease hostilities and allow unhindered access for humanitarian aid.
