Elon Musk hopes the US and Europe will drop all tariffs

Elon Musk, addressing Italy’s League Party via video link, expressed his hope for a future of zero tariffs and free movement between the U.S. and Europe.

This statement comes days after President Trump’s tariff announcement, which included a 20% tariff on EU nations like Italy.

Musk, a Trump advisor, advocated for a “free trade zone between Europe and North America.”

Musk, speaking to League leader Matteo Salvini, also suggested easing restrictions on transatlantic labor mobility.

He stated, “If people wish to work in Europe or wish to work in North America, they should be allowed to do so.”

He added that this advice had been relayed to the U.S. President.

Musk, who has shown support for right-wing parties in Europe, including Italy’s League and Brothers of Italy, reiterated his stance.

Italy’s Economy Minister, Giancarlo Giorgetti, from the League, called for “de-escalation” with the U.S., warning against retaliatory tariffs.

Musk recently thanked Salvini for supporting Starlink’s potential use in Italy’s satellite communications.
