Italian Saipem lands major offshore contract in West Africa

Italian engineering giant Saipem has secured a massive 260 million dollar offshore drilling contract from Eni Côte d’Ivoire Limited.

The extensive energy agreement encompasses a long-term drilling campaign designed to unlock and develop crucial underwater fields in West Africa.

Capitalizing on the region’s vast potential, the specialized Bahamas-flagged drilling vessel “Santorini” will lead the highly anticipated offshore operations.

Engineering crews plan to deploy the massive ship to the dynamic waters off the Ivory Coast in early 2027.

The versatile contract provides options to expand the initial timeline with lucrative new work periods across the maritime sector.

Industry analysts expect the vessel could eventually chart a course toward neighboring countries to maintain continuous regional drilling activities.
